I hope you’re doing well in terms of health. I am Sidharth Paul, a student at your esteemed university, and I am writing to request that you halt my current semester due to a family emergency. My father is ailing. He has a tumor in his liver, which causes his liver function to be impaired. He was just diagnosed with stage 3 liver cancer, which is progressing rapidly. He has chemotherapy every week and is unable to work owing to his illness; in the meantime, my sisters and I are working extra shifts to generate money to pay for our father’s treatment as well as meet household expenditures. I can’t cover up my studies in this way, and it’s affecting my CGPA, which I don’t want. I beg that you halt this semester of mine because the doctors have stated that my father should be Ok in less than 6 to 7 months of therapy if nothing goes wrong. I want to stay at your esteemed university, but I have too much stress on my sleeve right now that I can’t cover up with my academics.
So, sir, I respectfully request that you allow me to take a leave of absence while also freezing my semester so that when I return, I can begin my semester and be right back on schedule. I am hoping for a favorable response from you, and I want to thank you for your time and everything you have done to make our university the finest in town.

After two weeks, we learned that flights between the United States and India had been suspended for three months owing to the CoronaVirus epidemic, and I am now stranded in the United States. My time here would result in a decrease in attendance as well as a decline in my academics, both of which would have a significant influence on my CGPA.
So, sir, I humbly request that you grant me a leave of absence while simultaneously freezing my semester, so that when I return, I may begin my semester and be back on track. I’m looking for a positive answer from you. Thank you.
